Why graphics for homesteaders?

Homesteading has a special place in my heart!

Our family has always desired a separation from the norm. We dreamt of a farm someday, and did what we could with under a 1/4 acre in our suburban home in Colorado. But it was expensive, and we maxed out our space with 7 chickens and two raised garden beds. We were ready to change it up.

That’s when we hit the road full time in an RV! We’ve been a traveling family for over two years, and the only thing that slows us down is our new property up in northern Wisconsin (20 acres of raw land). It’ll eventually be our farm, and something we hope to pass down for generations.

This past summer (2023), I found it SO difficult to find local farms to support, even though they were all around us. We stumbled upon a nice family farm that had a road sign advertising their offerings, and they become our source of local fresh meat and dairy. Come to find out, they had a Facebook page – but just weren’t getting discovered!

And as I’ve joined homesteading communities online, I’ve noticed a need for good marketing resources for homesteaders who are trying to make a profit on their farm. “Homesteader graphics” just doesn’t exist in any graphics market online.

I’ve been a graphic designer for small businesses for over 10 years.

As I started to create Canva templates recently for my clients, I felt called to serve the homesteading community specifically with my graphic design knowledge! And I know this is just the start of something really, really great that I know God is calling me to.

Getting to combine my love for design AND homesteading? It just makes sense.
